About Me

Kaine Nicholas is an accomplished financial professional with more than 15 years of entrepreneurial and financial experience. Kaine was the first Executive Director of Black Cooperative Investment Fund (BCIF), a community-based organization rooted in self-help economics that provides micro loans to the unapologetically to Black Community.

Throughout his career, he has been focused on creating substantive community impact and has continually sought opportunities to use his unique skills to improve the quality of life for his community.

After working in global finance for several years at professional services firms such as; Etrade, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business , J.P. Morgan, and others; he started ABLE Consulting, LLC, which helped drive vision and growth for corporations under $10 million.

As the BCIF Executive director, Kaine focused on leading to cooperative economics, entrepreneurial acceleration providing capital through pooled dollars and micro loans to the Black Community in the Southern California ecosystem.

Kaine holds an MBA from Babson College for global entrepreneurship and received a B.S. in economics & finance from Bentley University. Mr. Nicholas is a Riordan Fellow at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a certificate holder for board/executive leadership from the USC Cecil Murray Institute for Community Engagement and the African-American Board Leadership (AABLI).

Kaine, his two young daughters and wife of ten years reside in San Pedro, California. He enjoys finding time to teach finance and entrepreneurship to the young kids and teenagers.

Founded in 2016, the Black Cooperative Investment Fund is a 501 (c) 3, nonprofit community-based organization that provides microloans to the Black community through pooled dollars and raises awareness about the importance of economic empowerment, equity, and wealth building in the Southern California region. BCIF’s vision is to provide a dedicated, reliable, and perpetual source of capital to create assets and build wealth for, and within, the Black community while being a catalytic force for building a critical mass movement of change based on economic imperatives.
